Coconut Grove yacht charters depart from Dinner Key Marina (3400 Pan American Dr) — Miami's largest municipal marina and the closest pickup point to Stiltsville, the Cape Florida Lighthouse, and the Soldier Key flats. Charters from $550/hr include a USCG-licensed captain. Coconut Grove is the preferred departure for sailing-style days, family charters, and anyone who wants to skip the Government Cut traffic.
Dinner Key sits inside Biscayne Bay — sheltered water means a smoother ride for kids, older guests, and anyone prone to seasickness. You're 12 minutes from the Stiltsville stilt-houses and 18 minutes from the Key Biscayne sandbar (vs. 35+ min from Miami Beach). Free parking is plentiful (unlike Miami Beach), and Greenstreet Cafe is right at the marina if you want lunch beforehand.
Stiltsville → Soldier Key → Boca Chita lighthouse is the classic 6-hour loop. 4-hour charters typically do Stiltsville + Cape Florida + the Nixon sandbar. The Bahamas day-trip (Bimini round-trip) is also faster from the Grove because you skip the Miami Beach traffic on the way out.
Dinner Key has limited deep-draft slips, so most charters here run on 50'–80' motor yachts. Larger 100'+ vessels usually depart from Sea Isle or Miami Beach Marina instead.
