Yacht Party in Miami

A Miami yacht party is the city's signature celebration: your own boat, your own playlist, your own guest list, anchored chest-deep at the sandbar with the skyline as the backdrop. Party charters run 4, 6, or 8 hours, from $650 for 4 hours — BYOB standard, Bluetooth sound systems aboard, a USCG-licensed captain running the water. Standard yachts host up to 12–13 guests; inspected vessels take parties of 25, 49, or 149. Every price is listed before you book, which is not the Miami party-boat norm.

The Miami yacht party playbook

The format is battle-tested: board at 1pm with the music already on, run the Star Island loop while everyone finds their spot and their first drink, then drop anchor at the Nixon sandbar by 2:30 — the floating party district where the whole scene rafts up. Two hours of swimming, paddleboards, and jet skis later, you pull anchor for the golden-hour cruise back past South Beach as the towers light up. Six hours door to door, and the group chat runs on the photos for a week. Night owls flip it: a 6–10pm slot trades the sandbar for the lit skyline and the Friday–Saturday Bayside fireworks.

Music, drinks, and what the captain allows

BYOB is standard — load your own bar; we supply ice, coolers, and cups, and 21+ is enforced for alcohol.

Every yacht carries a Bluetooth system; the bigger boats carry setups a DJ can plug into, and your DJ or photographer rides as part of your guest count. House rules are short: no glitter or confetti (illegal in Florida waters and fined accordingly), glass only on the larger yachts, no smoking in the salon, and volume that respects the raft-up next door. Inside those lines, the deck is yours — the captain runs the boat, not the party.

Group size: where the 13-guest line comes from

Federal rules cap most charter yachts at 12–13 passengers regardless of length — a 100-footer and a 50-footer often carry the same headcount; they just carry it differently.

Bigger parties need a USCG-inspected vessel certified for 25, 49, or 149 guests, and Miami has a short supply that books out first for holiday weekends. Be honest about your true headcount early: 'a few extra friends showed up' is the one problem the captain can't solve at the dock, because the certificate is the certificate.

What a yacht party costs, per person

The boat is priced per hour, not per head, which is what makes the math work: a 4-hour party on a 50'–60' yacht runs about $1,450–$2,900 before tax and gratuity — split by twelve, that's under $250 each, in line with a South Beach club night that comes with none of this. Add-ons carry listed prices you approve at booking: the jet ski hour, décor, catering trays, a photographer. Crew gratuity (typically 18–20%) is paid directly to the crew at the end. Nothing else appears on the water — surprise fees are the other guys' business model.

Up to 12–13 on standard charter yachts — that's a federal passenger cap, not a boat-size limit. For 14 and up, we book you onto an inspected vessel certified for 25, 49, or 149 guests. Give us the honest headcount up front; boarding day is the wrong time to discover the certificate math.

Yes — BYOB is the Miami standard, and we stock ice, coolers, and cups. Hard seltzers, champagne, and pre-mixed cocktails travel best; kegs don't. Glass is fine on the bigger yachts, cans and plastic on the rest. Everyone drinking is 21+, and the captain checks when in doubt.

From $650 for 4 hours. The most-booked format — 4 hours on a 50' yacht for up to 12–13 guests — runs about $1,450–$2,900 before tax, gratuity, and optional add-ons. Inspected vessels for bigger groups quote by headcount and date. Every listing shows the full price before you commit.

Not when they're run right. Anchored at the sandbar, loud is the ambient condition; underway and near marinas, the captain keeps volume inside the local rules so the party never meets the marine patrol. That's the practical value of a licensed operation — nothing about the boat invites a second look.

Yes — bring your own (they count toward the guest cap) or ask us to arrange one as a listed-price add-on. The 60'+ yachts have the deck space and power for a proper setup; on smaller boats, a serious playlist through the onboard system gets the same dance-floor result.
